Celebrating 100 years of Roald Dahl's stories! #Dahlalong

Roald Dahl's stories were magic to me as a young reader, and still are in many ways. From Matilda, to The Witches, The Twits, The BFG, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach he captured the stuff of children's dreams and put them in print, helping fuel the imaginations' of future generations of readers.

Currently, there's a photo challenge being held on Instagram over August to celebrate Roald Dahl's work by a number of bloggers and instagrammers, and you should definitely join in if you haven't yet!

This is my photo for Week 1's prompt: 'Favourite Dahl book', and you can have a look at the other weeks prompts here. I have so many favourites to choose from, but I'm especially excited about this story at the moment with the recent release of Disney/Stephen Spielberg's movie adaptation.

If you haven't heard about it yet, check out the trailer. It gave me chills. It's a bit spooky, haunting, and magical - everything I could have hoped for in Dahl book-to-movie adaptation. I can't wait to see the movie!

Happy reading!
