Of flowers, friends and chocolate | LIFE
Last week, while I was at South Bank I went to Flowers of the World with my friend, Jade.
I hadn't seen her, in what feels like forever, and this cute little cafe was the perfect place to sit, chat and catch up over our spicy hot chocolates.
It was Jade's suggestion to drop by Flowers of the World, and I'm so glad that we did. I loved the vibrancy of the store. If Anthropologie, a cafe and a florist had a lovechild, it would be Flowers of the World. It's a beautiful collision of greenery, homewares and lovely treats!
We headed upstairs and enjoyed a lovely cup of Inca spicy hot chocolate, which went a long way to warm us up. Brisbane weather is actually ridiculously cold at the moment, I've been wearing my winter gear from my exchange in Europe some days!
I also intend to actually try out the menu as we didn't have a chance to this time. It's incredible that I've lived in Brisbane for so long and yet I've never been inside FotW before.
Coincidentally, Jade was after some reading material, and with the Lifeline Bookfest on, it was clearly fated that we went along (and I went back for the second time that weekend, eek!). The few novels I picked up on this trip also made their way into my Lifeline Bookfest Haul post.
Later, I headed into the city and made a very quick beeline for UNIQLO (or as my Dad likes to call it Uni Queensland. It still cracks me up). My Mum and sister needed some winter gear STAT - no one should to Canberra at this time of year without a good amount of winter layers! Thankfully, the retail gods smiled upon me because not only did I find a super helpful shop assistant to help me find a laundry list of items from different floors, I managed to do it within a few minutes of the store closing. My only defence for finding myself in that situation, is that it's easy to get sidetracked at Bookfest! (I have a book problem, I know, I know).
I hope you're keeping warm, whatever part of the world you're in and having a lovely weekend!

These geraniums at the front counter were so bright and cheery I couldn't resist taking a photo of them! |
